NCEA members including individuals, associations and corporate members, all contributed to the development of the NCEA Certification through their participation at the NCEA meetings. These meetings were the catalyst to provide standards for the skin care industry. The development of the 1200-hour Esthetician Job Task Analysis was instrumental in providing the foundation for which the certification is based.

It is NCEA’s position that an esthetician upon completion of a 600 hour program should be able to perform and/or know the following job tasks:
